Governor Jennifer Granholm is
calling for broad participation by all stakeholders in
shaping the future of the Michigan Medicaid program.
On November 21, 2002,
Governor Granholm held a summit that engaged representatives
of consumers, providers, and insurers along with other
experts in developing broad policy that will preserve the
safety net and improve recipients' health care while
bringing financial stability and solvency to the Medicaid
program.
The summit included:
- Governor Granholm's
call for an open dialogue focused on creative solutions
and the policy assumptions that will guide deliberations
- Presentations that
provided a full picture of the status of the state budget
and the budget challenges facing Medicaid
- Demonstration of
www.michiganmedicaid.org as a vehicle for providing
ideas and developing solutions
