Why are lines of text overlapping one
another on some sections of this website?
Unfortunately, there are issues in viewing between
Internet Explorer and Netscape Navigator. What might look "good"
in one browser may not necessarily look good in another.
Currently, this page is best viewed using Internet Explorer but I am
working to make it compatible and user-friendly no matter which
browser you choose to use. I strongly recommend downloading the
newest version of Netscape. It works seamlessly with our
software producing a perfect-looking page in either browser. You
can download the software or order it on cd-rom at
http://channels.netscape.com/ns/browsers/download.jsp.
Why do you have some documents in Adobe
Acrobat Reader's pdf format and what can I do if I have trouble
downloading and/or viewing one of those documents?
Why do we
use Adobe? Because Adobe's pdf format is one of the
cleanest, most crisp, high-quality, real-to-life ways to view a
document online; it also provides wonderful print quality.
But I do have it and it still
doesn't work! I would suggest that you check which version of
the Adobe Acrobat Reader you have installed on your computer. If it
is not version 5.0, you may need to upgrade to take full advantage of
our documents.
But I don't have it! I
can't express enough how convenient this free software is. MANY sites
use Adobe's pdf format simply because it is FREE and many, many people
have taken advantage of that fact.
How do I get it?
Simply click the button at the top of the page labeled "Get Adobe
Reader" or go to
http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep.html and follow the
instructions on downloading and installing the FREE reader.
What do I do then? You
come back to the our website and open
the documents with no hassle.
What if I have trouble?
Email me and ask me to send you the file in question. Most likely
that will work.
Basic Tips For
Using Adobe's Free Acrobat Reader:
-
Give the document time to open - some
may be very large.
-
If Adobe doesn't automatically open when you click on
a link, locate the Adobe Acrobat Reader
software on your computer, open it, then click the link to open the
document.
-
If you can't locate the Acrobat Reader on your
computer, you can try searching for it on your hard drive, looking
for it in your programs menu (windows), or download it by clicking
on the Adobe icon above - you can also search for "Adobe" on your
hard drive.
-
If your computer doesn't like Adobe's FREE pdf reader
for some reason, I'll do my best to turn the file into something
that your computer can decipher.

Our website works best with versions of Internet Explorer and versions
6.2 and above of Netscape. Netscape version 4.8 is especially
known to produce error messages. If possible, I recommend
upgrading to the free version of 6.2 or version 7 of Netscape for
optimal performance. Version 7 can be found at:
http://channels.netscape.com/ns/browsers/download.jsp.
Version 6.2 can be found at:
http://wp.netscape.com/download/archive/client_archive62x.html.
I keep getting a
page that says "Sorry this URL does not exist on this server or the
server is temporarily unavailable" - what can I do?

If that is not the issue, look into
this: First, make sure that the address is
typed in correctly. Almost all of our
pages end in .html NOT .htm.
If your address ends in .htm, please add a lowercase "L" to the end of
the address and try again. If that doesn't work please email me
with the address that you are getting the error with at
jackie@bridges4kids.org.
I will do my best to help you.
